The Walker Cup Match is a competition we respect and admire. Since the founding of the cup at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) in 1921, and the first State side in 1922 at National Golf Links, The Walker Cup has always been a joy to watch.
Last year’s match at St. Andrews Old course was exceptional, with the US dominating the final day singles, and going on to win 14.5 to 11.5 – the fourth consecutive win. Next year’s 50th anniversary Walker Cup is set to be a sporting highlight, at the one and only Cypress Point Club. The last time it was played here was way back in 1981 – so this is extra special.
Teams are made up of 10 male amateurs from the USA Vs Great Britain and Ireland. The USGA chooses the USA Team, whilst the R&A pick the GB&I team.
Cypress Point Club. Consistently ranked the #1 or #2 courses in the world is a place firmly on our bucket list. Pebble Beach and Monterey Peninsula is an area we know very well having visited several times to play and watch the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am – some of the courses we have played and included in our tours are Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, Spyglass, Poppy Hills and Del Monte). There are many other courses in the area that are not as well known, but almost equally as strong.

Friday, Sept. 5 (Opening Ceremony)
Saturday, Sept. 6 (Four morning foursomes matches followed by eight singles matches)
Sunday, Sept. 7 (Four morning foursomes matches followed by 10 singles matches, followed by Closing Ceremony)
